‘Re-Centering Your Life Around a Higher Power’ -- Unplanned Mom School Episode 015 with Ashley Simmons (Bush)
We're 'Flipping the Script' here on the #UnplannedMomSchoolPodcast, so that means YOU get to hear the tables turned on ME.
This week, here’s my interview by Amy Sanders on her fantastic podcast ‘THRIVE Her’. (Be sure to subscribe here.) Amy and I openly talk about our healing and personal motherhood journeys.
A few years ago, Amy was a broke single mom healing from an unhealthy marriage. She knew that she was meant for more, but she was stuck in a self-sabotaging cycle. She made the decision to pick herself up, did the work, took back her power, and created a dream life in just a few years. Since then she's made it her mission to help other women do the same.
Everything you want starts with this first powerful step towards change. If you are ready to feel better, achieve your goals, and up-level your life then you want to check out this amazing conversation!
014: How to be a Badass Mom with Life Coach Elisa Fucci
Motherhood is not measurable, nor is it an end destination
Let’s face it -- we live in a culture that is obsessed with success. Now, that’s not necessarily a bad thing because as badass women, the desire to be successful is what drives us to learn, to take risks, and grow, right?
But when we define success solely by how many hours we put into work, how much we sacrifice ourselves to keep other people happy, or how the ‘shoulds’ mount up and leave us feeling depleted, then “success” is impossible to achieve because we are culturally programmed to want more, and more, and more.
There’s a quote I love from this week's guest, Elisa Fucci, life coach “I love myself, and it’s the most loving thing you can do for yourself and others.
013: The Power of ”What If” — How to thrive after tragedy
You are a beautiful soul. And one beautiful soul to another - I can't wait to introduce you to positive psychologist Clare Deacon.
I want to kick things off by saying that sometimes life can be hard, and it's okay to admit that. No matter how big or small you perceive what's happening - it's your story, your feelings, and there is no right or wrong answer.
Clare has experienced extreme tragedy and shared with her three children that their daddy died overnight. Her last memory is of him tucking their children into bed that night, and just a few weeks prior, they had been together as a family in Disney World. Don't just take it from me that this woman has turned her tragedy into her purpose. Here are a few things we learned from our discussion with Clare…
Remember when you've overcome adversity in your life and what lessons you learned.
You don't need to give up - you need to give in and feel your feelings.
Everyone around you is fighting their own battles. Be kind to them.
No matter the tragedy, you can always thrive.
010: The effects of stillbirth on mothers: How you can help yourself or a loved one that has lost a baby
In this week’s episode, we are talking about the effects of stillbirth on mothers and their relationships and learning how to cope with pain and grief. Ashley sits down to ask questions about how to navigate pregnancy loss and learn to live in peace.
If you or a loved one have experienced a pregnancy loss, you are often left wondering how this happened and how you will ever move forward.
This week’s guest is Jennifer Senn, a certified pregnancy loss coach, and she shares about her loss of twin baby girls at 32 weeks gestation. The direct impact it had on her marriage and how she’s fulfilling her purpose to help other women find peace after a tragic loss.
